The Suring School Board has selected Kelly Casper as its district superintendent to replace Robert Ray, who will retire at the end of the school year.
Casper, elementary principal for the Coleman School District, starts July 1.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to do something great for the Suring School District,” she said.
A graduate of Marinette High School, Casper taught science in the Pulaski School District for seven years and served as a department head before joining the Coleman School District, first as high school/middle school principal for 12 years before switching to elementary principal last year.
Casper said she will face many challenges in her new position, as she works to raise the bar for academic success.
“I hope to bring leadership and energy and movement forward,” she said.
In the 2012-13 School Report Card, a Department of Public Instruction measure of student achievement, Suring School ranked at the “meets few expectations” level.
