Clintonville man arrested with marijuana ‘dabs’

A 22-year-old Clintonville man was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop Sunday in Marion. About 2 p.m. Sunday, a Marion officer attempted to stop the man on East Ramsdell Street for speeding. The suspect, however, did not pull over his vehicle and continued at a high rate of speed before eventually stopping on South Parkview Avenue near Canon Park. The Marion K-9 was called to the scene, and a search uncovered approximately 850 grams of marijuana “dabs” and drug paraphernalia, according to a statement from the Marion Police Department. Dabs, also known as butane hash oil, are hard, wax-like concentrates made by extracting THC — marijuana’s active ingredient — from cannabis through a process that uses butane gas as the solvent. The driver was subsequently arrested for eluding an officer, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was transported to the Waupaca County Jail and was also cited for numerous traffic offenses. Charges are pending. The Marion Police Department was assisted by the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department.
