Clintonville holding Winter Whirl this week

Clintonville’s annual Winter Whirl will begin with a used book sale from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Clintonville Public Library, 75 Hemlock St. The sale will continue on from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. On Saturday, there will be a pie and ice cream social at the Clintonville Community Center, 30 S. Main St., from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. The 27th annual Tummy Warmer Cook-Off will be held at the Clintonville Recreation Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The categories will include mild chili, hot chili, chicken soup and miscellaneous soup. Those interested in participating in the cook-off should call 715-823-7660 to register. There will be crafts and a vendor fair at the Recreation Center and Community Center. To reserve a space in the fair, call 715-823-7660. The Woodland Badgers 4-H Club will sell strawberry and chocolate ice cream sundaes. Grayling Pingel will provide live music at the the Clintonville Recreation Center beginning at 11 a.m. The movie “Pan” will be shown at the Recreation Center at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $2.50 per person. A porkie breakfast will be served at Aster Retirement Community, 38 N. Main S., from 7-11 a.m. Sunday by the Clintonville Middle School Wise Guys. A children’s carnival will be held at St. Rose and St. Mary’s School, 140 Auto St., from 1-3 p.m.
