Clara Augusta Post, 94, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016.
Clara was born in Cheboygan, Michigan, on Nov. 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Rev. Chris C. and Louise (Schultz) Domke. She graduated from Bowler High School in 1941. On Sept. 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Walter Post. They lived on the home farm in the town of Herman where their daughter, Charlotte Jahnke, was born.
Clara was an active member of Elias Lutheran Church and was involved in various church organizations. She was a former 4-H leader and enjoyed singing with Sweet Adelines and Song Birds of Shawano.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Jon (Lynette) Richards, of Shawano, Dave (Kelly) Richards, of Shawano, and Chris Richards, of Honolulu, Hawaii; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Eugene Jahnke; granddaughter, Katherine Richards; her parents; numerous siblings; and former son-in-law, Dan Richards.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Elias Lutheran Church with Lay Minister Lois Graper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
