Two people arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine at a home in Stiles made initial appearances in Oconto County Circuit Court on July 1.
William J. Longsine, 49, and Abigail R. Santee, 25, face several drug-related charges, including manufacturing of methamphetamine, as a party to a crime, and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, as party to a crime, from March 1 to June 25.
The charges carry maximum penalties of 25 years imprisonment and $100,000 fines. Longsine faces eight counts in all, and Santee, seven.
County and state law enforcement officials searched the home at 5196 St. Patrick’s Road, Lena, on June 25 and took both suspects into custody.
According to a criminal complaint, investigators found 65 packages of meth, totally 16.25 grams, in the kitchen area and bedroom of the home. One package was also found in Santee’s purse. They also found cooking vessels and supplies they suspect were used to manufacture the drug in a method known as “shake and bake” or “one pot.”
The complaint states that Longsine began making meth in the spring and told authorities he used the drug six or seven days a week. Although Santee told authorities Longsine sold meth to others, Longsine denied this, saying he provided it to friends when they visited, but did not sell it.
Santee told investigators she didn’t get involved in the cooking process but purchased pseudoephedrine products for Longsine and helped package meth. She frequently used the meth Longsine produced, she stated. She also burned the meth waste in a wood stove in the garage, according to the file.
Investigators found meth waste in trash bags in the garage and in a camper parked on the property, according to the complaint.
Cash bond was set at $50,000 for Santee and $100,000 for Longsine. They are due back in court July 10 for a continued initial appearance.
