Sneaking in a golf meet at Golden Sands Golf Course in Cecil before heavy rains Monday, Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School took first, Gresham second and Bonduel third.
The Chargers shot 358, Gresham 366 and Bonduel 371.
Ben Shoup, who placed fourth with an 85, led Bonduel. Zach Acker carded 87, Austin Krueger 97 and Brandon Wagester 102.
“We’re happy with third place,” Bonduel coach Dan Anderson said. “The guys played really well today. It’s our home course, so you sort of expect them to play a little better. This is a good way to finish out the regular season before the conference tournament and regionals.”
Anderson was impressed with the play of Krueger and Wagester.
“They’ve come on as of late,” Anderson said. “Brandon was hurt, he had a fractured leg. He was out until recently. I’m really happy to see him get out there and be able to play.
“Austin, it’s another good round for him. As a senior, you never really know what’s going to happen when you get out here. It’s a little bit more pressure than he’s used to, but he’s stepping up.”
Kyle Adamski shot 85, taking third by tiebreaker, to lead the Chargers. Maverick Bushman and Brant Linke both shot 90 and Gavin Czerwonka shot 93.
“They played really well,” Wittenberg-Birnamwood coach Chris Bartletti said. “Kyle had his best round ever.”
Killian Eggert’s 77, good enough for second place, led Gresham. Kyle Miller shot 89, Cole Hoffman 105 and James Kazik 95.
Jared Sawall’s 86 led Marion, which placed eighth with a score of 458. Brian Knight shot 113, Brandon Schultz 125 and Emily Sawall 134.
Because the team only had two players, Menominee Indian did not participate in the team competition. John Long led the Eagles with a score of 107. Brandon Miller shot 110.
Weyauwega-Fremont’s David Niemuth was the medalist with a round of 72.
