Carroll, Rettke honored at Shawano tennis team’s senior night

Sept. 24 Fox Valley Lutheran 5, Shawano 2 The Shawano Hawks hosted the Foxes from the Fox Valley for senior night, dropping a 5-2 decision. Rachael Carroll and Hadley Rettke were honored by their teammates and coaches for their four years as Shawano Hawks tennis players. Rettke played at No. 3 singles and fell 6-0, 6-1. Carroll, at No. 2 singles, racked up her 19th win with a well executed match 6-0, 6-1. The second win for the Hawks was by Ava Hoffman and Jaelyn Hietpas at No. 3 doubles in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 10-5. Ireland Setterman was shut out 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Laney Rich lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Claire Weiland and Olivia Dobratz were defeated 6-0, 6-1. Lana Owens and Madison Miller lost 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. The Hawks finish up Bay Conference play at West De Pere on Sept. 26 and then the Bay Conference Tournament on Sept. 28.
