It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected passing of Betty (Robenhorst) Wegner on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, after a short illness. Betty was born Oct. 8, 1946, to Robert and Viola Robenhorst. She was joined in marriage to James Wegner on Jan. 25, 1962, and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Together they had four children, Jim, Peggy, Brenda and Holly; two grandchildren, Sean and Samantha; and enjoyed their very special great-grandchildren Skylar, Saige, along with Landyn, Alaina and Lucas. A recent addition was her PAC (theater) family. Betty and Jim raised their family in Suring.
Betty was welcomed into heaven by her children, Peggy and Brenda; parents; brothers, Herbert (Jean), Hubert (Rita) and Roger (Sandy); sisters, Loretta (John) and Arlene (Vernon); brother-in-law, Harvey Gardebrecht; and a very special sister-in-law, Sande Walker.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Jim and Holly (Jake); grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her in-laws, Bob Walker, Robert Wegner, Marlin (Sande) Wegner, Connie Gardebrecht, Bev and Rocky Kostreva; close extended family, Hank Walker, Carla (Chic) Langyl and Suzanne Gibson.
Betty was a very unique and special person with a love and kindness that was truly endless.
Please know that Betty considered so many friends to be family, making sure that no one was alone on a holiday because there was always room for one more.
The family would like to thank everyone who took the time to say a prayer or reach out to us in any capacity; your thoughtfulness was truly appreciated.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Breed Union Cemetery.
Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com.
