Audrey E. Schultz, 79, of Shawano, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, May 16, 2014, at the Shawano Medical Center, where she had been a patient the past two weeks.
Audrey was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Abingdon, England, a daughter of the late Leslie and Mary (Coster) Crapper. Audrey grew up and graduated from high school in England.
Audrey met her husband, William F Schultz Jr., while he was stationed in Portsmith, England, serving as a military policeman for the United States Air Force. Audrey and William where united in marriage on June 19, 1954, at St. Michael’s Church in Cumnor, England. The couple stayed in England until 1955. When they left England, the couple returned to Shawano.
Upon returning to Shawano, Audrey went to work at the A & W Family Restaurant in Shawano. She later worked at Spurgeon’s Department Store. Audrey later went to work at Chaimson’s Department Store in Shawano. She retired in the mid 1980s. Her husband, Bill, preceded her in death on July 7, 1998.
Audrey enjoyed playing the game of Bingo. She also enjoyed camping, knitting, playing cards and in her younger days, she was an avid bowler. Audrey liked to tend her flower gardens and was a true lover of cats.
Audrey is survived by her loving children, Karen (Gary) Rankin, of West Bend, William L. (Patti) Schultz III, of Wasilla, Alaska, Bruce “Duffy” (fiancé, Dawn) Schultz, of Shawano, and Debi (Dan) Walgurski, of Suamico; grandchildren, Andrew and Stephanie Rankin, Michael Ebelt, Amber Schultz, Jeremy (fiancé, Callie) Schultz, Nikita and Briar Schultz, Lauren and Sidni Walgurski, Amy, Hannah and Jacob Jensrud; two great-great-grandchildren, Audrey and Kieran Ebelt; several nieces and nephews.
Audrey was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Crapper, and her in-laws,
Funeral services for Audrey Schultz will be held on Wednesday, May 21, at 11:30 a.m. at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. James Lonick, lay minister of prayer, will officiate. Interment will be in the Lake Drive Cemetery, town of Wescott. Relatives and friends may call at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service that morning.
