Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. is looking for youth singers, dancers, and actors for its production of “Magic Tree House: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens Jr.”
Show dates are Dec. 4-7 and Dec. 11-14. Children ages 6-18 are invited to audition anytime from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 19-20 at the Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams. No previous performance experience is required.
Prior to auditions, individuals should visit www.abramsspotlightproductions.com/auditions to register and to learn about the show and its characters. Those auditioning should prepare 30-45 seconds of song, preferably from a musical, to sing at the audition. The audition also consists of a short reading from the script and learning and performing a short choreography routine. Children should wear comfortable clothes and footwear.
In addition to needing youth actors, ASPI has openings for youths and adults to work behind the scenes in various tech and production roles. Anyone interested can email theater.aspi@gmail.com or call 920-826-5852 to volunteer.
“A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens Jr.” is based on a book by Jenny Laird and Will Osborne; lyrics by Randy Courts and Will Osborne; and music by Randy Courts.
Directed by Bobby Buffington, the show brings to life book 44 of the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne. This holiday adventure follows Jack and Annie as they travel back in time and meet author Charles Dickens. Through the power of friendship and kindness, they help him rediscover the spirit of the season.
