Arlene A. Weyer, 85, Oconto Falls, formerly of Menomonee Falls, died Friday morning, May 16, 2014, at Community Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Menomonee Falls to Chester and Clara (Umhoefer) Keeler.
Arlene grew up in the area where she graduated high school with the Class of 1947. Following graduation, she was employed at Honey Acres in both the factory and office.
On Jan. 22, 1951, she married Robert “Bob” Weyer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. The couple lived in Menomonee Falls for all of their married lives. They owned and operated a retail window and door business until 1981. Over the years, Arlene was an avid bowler and golfer, and, in her later years, enjoyed fishing. While living in Menomonee Falls, she was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. For 15 years, Arlene spent winters in New Mexico and her summers in Oconto Falls until just a few years ago.
Survivors are her two children, Christine A. Weyer, Oconto Falls, and Robert J. Weyer, Oconto; seven grandchildren, Katie, Bobby, Sarah (Kevin) Wenninger, Joey and Michael Weyer, Amy (Jeremy) Baker and Jessica Witt; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Ethan Baker; three sisters, Jean Schneider, Menomonee Falls, Burdella (Ed) Stuesser, Richfield, Carol (Jerry) Schwister, Pewaukee; and one sister-in-law, Lorna Keeler, Menomonee Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, in 1981; one brother, Gordon Keeler; and one brother-in-law, Marvin Schneider.
Visitation with the urn present will take place from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation will continue at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls after 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, until the time of the service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial of the urn will take place in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Menomonee Falls.
