Angeli hired as elementary school principal

Curt Angeli, a Gillett Elementary teacher for 24 years, has been named principal of Gillett Elementary School. “It’s a wonderful community,” said Angeli, who has taught fourth and fifth grades. “I’m more than content here. We have great kids, and we have a very special staff.” Angeli takes over for Tammy Lipsey, who resigned in June to accept a principal position in Freedom. “Curt will bring his experience and the stability we need to continue and grow the great things that are happening at Gillett schools,” Superintendent Todd Carlson said. Carlson said Angeli has a great understanding of curriculum and will bring insight on how to best meet student needs. Angeli’s salary was set at $78,000. The School Board on Thursday also approved hiring Kim Klister as pupil services director; Ann Wagner, fifth-grade teacher; Barb Brodahl, elementary special education teacher; and Becky Woelfel, half-time secondary school secretary.
