Allen R. Burmeister, 63, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1950, to the late Ray and Dorothy (Gagnow) Burmeister.
In 1969, Al graduated from Shiocton High School. He was united in marriage to Diane Schwister on Aug. 4, 1979, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek. Diane preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2008. Al had an intricate role with has work at Seymour Dairy Products and was vital to the success of the cheese factory. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible, whether it was hunting, trapping or gardening. Al was one of the original members of the Wolf River Bass Club.
Al is survived by his siblings, Myrtle (Louis) Kutchenriter, Clintonville, Oliver Burmeister, Shawano, Ivan (Shirley) Burmeister, Marion, Linda (Alan) Stuart, Hortonville, Lyle (Alice) Burmeister, Black Creek, Aaron (Sue) Burmeister, Seymour, and Dennis (Doris) Burmeister, Black Creek. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Nancy Bruhn, Appleton; and brother-in-law Carl Jr. (Traci) Schwister, Seymour; and also survived by a special niece, Brooke; special nephew, Kevin; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Al was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Gladys Schwister, and brother-in-law, Gordon L. Bruhn.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating. Burial will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in the town of Maine.
