A two-vehicle crash on May 30 on state Highway 29 resulted in only one injury, but it caused one vehicle to be engulfed in flames.
About 10 p.m., the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a vehicle crash on Highway 29 near County Road K in the Town of Waukechon. Evidence on scene and further investigation showed a car traveling eastbound on the highway rear-ended a truck.
The car, driven by a 21-year-old man from the Green Bay area, ended up in the median and eventually became fully engulfed in flames. The man was not injured and was wearing his seat belt.
A 36-year-old woman from the Green Bay area was a passenger in the truck and had non-life threatening injuries. There were a total of five occupants within the pickup truck who were all wearing their seat belts, according to a press release from the sheriff’s department. Speed and alcohol were a contributing factor in this crash.
This crash is still under investigation.
