Counties sought to host Alice in Dairyland finals

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is accepting bids from counties to host the Alice in Dairyland Finals in 2028, 2029 and 2030.

The request for proposals is available on the Alice in Dairyland website, www.aliceindairyland.com, and proposals are due by June 1.

Hillside Assembly hosting Easter egg hunt

Hillside Assembly of God will host area kids from age 2 through fifth grade to its Easter Eggstravaganza on April 4 at the church, 5890 State Highway 22, Gillett.

Doors open at 10 a.m. Registration can be done online at www.hillsideassembly.com/egghunt.

Village of Lena to host Easter Egg-Stravaganza

Families are invited to celebrate the season at the annual Lena Easter Egg-Stravaganza, hosted by the village of Lena on April 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Anne’s Parish Hall, 221 E. Main St., Lena.

Cross walk to coincide with Good Friday

The Gillett-Suring Clergy Association will hold a cross walk April 3.

Local pastors will be leading community members as they begin the journey at noon at Gillett High School, 208 W. Main St., Gillett. There will be a brief scripture reading and prayer at each of four stops as the cross walk makes its way through the city.

March 19 is the Feast of St. Joseph. St. Joseph is the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the foster father of Jesus. He is also the patron of the Catholic Church.

The tradition of having a St. Joseph’s Day table originated in Sicily in medieval times. Loaded with many kinds of breads to share with everyone, this is a tradition that many Catholic churches and private homes still follow to this day.
