Menominee tribal members engaged in big food projects or who want to host larger quantities of people for feasts have a place to do so now.

Members of the Shawano County Public Property Committee on Sept. 18 narrowed the options to consider for new government buildings, including remodeling the current courthouse.

Cory Beyer, of Venture Architects, presented the options. After the list was narrowed, Kurt Berner, of The Samuels Group, said he would return next month with cost estimates for the work that would most likely be done in phases.

A two-vehicle crash on Sept. 20 on state Highway 22 near the intersection of state Highway 22 and County Road P has killed a Gillett man.

The buildings and sites that are home to six area convenience stores are up for sale individually with a combined asking price of $23.7 million.

That doesn’t mean the businesses are going anywhere.

The sites are currently home to Dino Stop convenience stores in Green Bay, Ledgeview, New Franken, Abrams, Little Suamico and Manitowoc.

Several of the locations feature fast food businesses as well.
