Wildlife damaging farmers’ crops is nothing new in Wisconsin, but there is help available to those affected by deer, bears, wolves, geese and other waterfowl.

A dozen Shawano County farmers enrolled in the 2025 Wildlife Damage, Abatement and Claims Program, said Blake Schuebel, a county land conservation technician.

The holiday season is underway, and many consumers are already shopping for the children in their lives. While they search for the perfect toys to wrap, they should remember that the greatest gift of all is safety.

Rep. Elijah Behnke is working to pass a bill he authored that would help the manufactured home industry when it comes to financing those homes.

Behnke said Paige Huntington-Dreier and her brothers, who own and operate North Country Homes in Bonduel, approached him earlier this year about reforming Wisconsin’s outdated regulations about manufactured homes.

Shawano County supervisors will meet Dec. 17 to take up the matter of whether to remove one of their own from the county board.

Supervisor Lowel Hammett said he intends to put up a fight to keep his position.

• Ronald E. Lee, 31, had his probation revoked Oct. 20 from a 2023 conviction for two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia to manufacture or store methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs and two counts of felony bail jumping. Judge William Kussel Jr. sentenced him Dec. 1 to five years in prison followed by seven years of extended supervision with conditions.

• Douglas Andrew Delveaux, 53, Oconto, pleaded no contest Dec. 1 to two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct. A related felony count was dismissed in a plea agreement. Judge Michael Judge withheld sentencing and placed him on one year of probation with conditions.
