The average price received by farmers for corn during December 2024 in Wisconsin was $4.03 per bushel, according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was 13 cents above the November price but 47 cents below December 2023.
The December 2024 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $9.53 per bushel, was 20 cents below the November price and $3.47 below the December 2023 price.
The December average oat price per bushel, at $3.23, was 89 cents below November and 3 cents below December 2023.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $140 per ton in December. This was $6 below the November price and $8 below the December 2023 price. The December 2024 alfalfa hay price, at $152 was $5 below the previous month and $35 below December 2023. The average price received for other hay during December was $93 per ton. This was $10 below the November price and $55 below December last year.
The average price for milk was $22.40 per hundredweight, 50 cents below the November price but $3.40 above December 2023. Prices received for milk cows for dairy herd replacement averaged $2,860 per head as of Jan. 1, 2025.
