Tigers’ Kohls named to all-conference first team

Gillett Secondary School senior Taylor Kohls last week was named to the All-Marinette & Oconto Conference girls basketball first team. Kohls scored in double figures in 15 of the Tigers’ 24 games this season, including a career-high 20 points against Goodman/Pembine in January. Gillett (17-8, 13-3 M&O) finished in second place. Gillett senior Rebecca Wolfe and freshman Taylor Yonker were given honorable mention. Suring senior guards Mackenzie LaMarre and Breanna Tienor were named to the second team Lena senior Christina Jagiello also was on the second team, and Crystal Kallies was given honorable mention. Teja Tonn, of Peshtigo, was named the conference’s most outstanding player of the year, and teammate Saige Ruleau was best defensive player of the year.
