The Suring High School Music Department will hold its Fall Festival fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, in the Suring High School gym. Admission is $5. Tickets are available from high school music students and at the door.
The Swing City Dance Band, a semiprofessional 17-piece swing/dance band, will perform from 7-8:30 p.m. The band is directed by Larry Zunker, a former Suring School band director.
Swing City will perform music from the 1940s to today. The group will donate its time to help the Suring music students raise funds to take a performance trip to Florida during spring break. This trip has been planned for several years, and it is hoped the trip can happen before another group of seniors graduates.
Suring High School music students will perform during the Swing City Dance Band’s break.
Other events in the gym that evening will include craft sales, bake sales, a cake walk, a 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, games and other fundraising events provided by music students and parents.
