The 33rd annual sturgeon fest and celebration pow wow will be held April 12 in honor of David Overstreet.
The event begins with the sturgeon walk at 10 a.m. at Keshena Falls, going to Menominee Nation High School, 500 State Highway 47-55, Keshena. The pow wow’s grand entry begins at noon, followed by the sturgeon feast at 6 p.m. The pow wow is sponsored by the Menominee Nation’s tribal historic preservation office.
Tribal Chairman Joey Awonohopay will be the master of ceremonies, while Tribal Legislator Gary Besaw is the arena director. Luke Besaw and Jamie Awonohopay will be the head male and female dancers, respectively, while Robert Kaquatosh will be the head veteran.
