“Emerging Talents,” a show of original art by nearly 100 Wittenberg-Birnamwood students from kindergarten through 12th grade, opens Saturday at the WOWSpace, 114 Vinal St., in Wittenberg.
The students will be recognized at an awards reception from 1-4 p.m. Sunday. Each student will receive a Certificate of Merit, and five high school students will receive Awards of Excellence.
During the year, two art teachers, Carol Strand and Sandra Ticknor, chose works from every grade and high school art class. Artists Cathy Kirk and Alan Clough selected the Awards of Excellence recipients.
The Emerging Talents show and awards were supported by a grant from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and funds from the Walls of Wittenberg.
The show is the sixth collaborative project between Walls of Wittenberg and the Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District. They have worked on four murals and a video art project.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through July 6.
