Shawano 2, Green Bay East o
Warner Beyer scored both of Shawano’s goals as he led the young Hawks to another victory, this one a 2-0 Bay Conference opener.
Ryan Buerman and the defense were also brilliant in another shutout victory while the middle of the field was controlled but with some stellar midfield play.
The Hawks improved to 4-1-1 overall and are 1-0 in conference play.
Pulaski 3, Wausau East 1
The Red Raiders took down the host Lumberjacks with a 3-1 victory.
Josh Aranda opened the scoring for Pulaski in the 28th minute off an assist from AJ Schenk.
Hudson Schultz made it a two-goal margin for the Red Raiders, finding the net in the 54th minute. Wausau East cut the deficit in half as Abonde Msenwa assisted on a Donovan Young goal in the 69th minute.
The Red Raiders answered less than a minute later to go back up by two on a goal by Maddox McKeefry.
Josh Roth made one save in goal for Pulaski (5-0-2). Andrew Kraft made 10 saves in goal for Wausau East (3-2).
