Shawano beats Menasha in tennis

Sept. 19 Shawano 4, Menasha 3 The Shawano girls tennis team made it two in a row with their second conference win over Menasha. Ireland Setterman and Rachael Carroll were winners at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Setterman won 6-2, 6-3, and Carroll won 6-0, 6-3. Carroll has extended her overall record to 18-2 on the season with one week to go in the regular season. Claire Weiland and Olivia Dobratz had a revenge match at No. 1 doubles and came out on top to win their second match in a row 6-3, 6-4. At No. 3 doubles, the new team of Ava Hoffman and Jaelyn Hietpas started out with a big win 6-2, 6-0. Losses for the Hawks were Hadley Rettke at No. 3 singles, Ruby Onesti at No. 4 singles and Madison Miller and Lana Owens at No. 2 doubles. The Hawks head into the final week of conference play with two duals and then finish up at the Bay Conference Tournament. Their overall record is 4-14. Pulaski 7, Green Bay Southwest 0 Pulaski swept Green Bay Southwest 7-0, not giving up one game in the singles matches. Winning 6-0, 6-0 were Ruth Krause at No. 1 singles, Aubrie Schluessler at No. 2 and Isabella Skalecki at No. 3. Anna Krause won at No. 4 due to a forfeit. Alyssa Eggert and Addison Heezen won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Ayla Groteluschen and Linde Lemerond won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2. Hailey Jansen and Gretchen Rottier won at No. 3 due to a forfeit.
