Rusty Holman

Rusty Holman, 41, Stiles, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 22, 2014, at home as the result of an accident. He was born July 13, 1973, in Oconto Falls to Tom and Penny (Owen) Holman. Rusty grew up in Oconto Falls, where he attended public schools and graduated high school with the Class of 1991. At a young age, he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, and even though the disease progressed where he used a wheelchair for mobility, Rusty’s love of family and zeal for life was never limited. He also enjoyed living among nature and found beauty in its simplicity. Rusty especially enjoyed his new house and the recently completed renovations, which allowed him access throughout his property. Rusty will be fondly remembered for his beautiful smile, great sense of humor, positive attitude, ability to tell a good story or recall a funny line from a movie, all while making up names such as Cowadog, which became a code word amongst his circle of trust. Rusty will be deeply missed by his significant other, Barb Waschbisch; stepchildren, Megan (fiance, Jared Bergh) and Josh Waschbisch; one grandson, Clayton; his father, Tom (Colleen) Holman; his mother, Penny Holman; two brothers, Tim (Stephanie) Holman, Matt Holman; maternal grandparents, Bob and Donna Owen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Desiree’) Steltz, Dave (Nancy) Steltz, Julie Steltz, Ellen (Roger) Daudelin; his best friend, Ken Coron; a very special nephew, Dawson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rob Holman, on July 7, 2014; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth (Meissner) Holman; two uncles, Mark Owen and Rick Goodman; and aunt, Susan Owen. Visitation with the urn present took place after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Bong officiating.
