Ruth Krause fought a hard second set against Notre Dame’s Lucy Lawton, but the 7-6 (5) loss was enough to seal Lawton’s win following a 6-1 first set at No. 1 singles.
That was the closest any Pulaski player came to earning a win.
Isabella Skalecki lost 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Anna Krause was shut out 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 spot, and Aubrey Cole lost 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 4 singles.
In doubles play, Alyssa Eggert and Addison Heezen lost 6-0, 6-1, and Ayla Groteluschen and Linde Lemerond lost by identical scores at No. 2. In the No. 3 position, Hailey Jansen and Gretchen Rottier lost 6-1, 6-3.

Wausau West Tournament
Pulaski had good results and some challenges to overcome at the tournament at Wausau West.
Pulaski 5, Madison Memorial 2
After Ruth Krause’s loss at No. 1 singles and Aubrie Schluessler’s loss at No. 2, Pulaski won the next two singles matches and all three doubles matches to earn the 5-2 win.
Skalecki won the No. 3 singles match 6-4, 6-2, and Anna Krause won 6-1 , 7-6 (6) at No. 4.
Eggert and Heezen won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Groteluschen and Lemerond won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2, and Jansen and Rottier won 6-1, 6-3 in the final doubles match.
Wausau West 4, Pulaski 3
The Red Raiders lost a close contest to their hosts, 4-3.
Skalecki was the only singles winner, claiming a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3. Anna Krause, at No. 4, nearly pulled out the win but ended up on the short end, 6-4 2-6, 10-8.
Ruth Krause and Schluessler lost their singles matches.
Groteluschen and Lemerond won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles, and Jansen and Rottier won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3. Eggert and Heezen drooped their No. 1 doubles match.
Pulaski, 4, Wisconsin Rapids, 3
In another close contest, Pulaski was on the winning side of a 4-3 victory over Wisconsin Rapids.
Ruth Krause and Anna Krause won their singles matches in close fashion. Ruth Krause grabbed identical 6-4 wins, while Anna Krause hung in there for 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 scores.
Schluessler and Skalecki lost their singles matches, winning six and five games, respectively.
Groteluschen and Lemerond pulled out 6-4, 6-2 wins at No. 2 doubles, and Jansen and Rottier claimed 6-3, 6-3 wins at No. 3. Eggert and Heezen lost 6-0, 7-5.
Pulaski 6, D.C. Everest 1
Pulaski won all four singles matches and two of three doubles matches to soundly defeat D.C. Everest.
Ruth Krause shut out Mila Bublik 6-0, 6-0. Schluessler collected 6-2, 6-1 wins. Anna Krause won 6-4, 6-1, and Cole won 6-3, 6-2.
Groteluschen and Lemerond shut out Kali Rutta and Brynn Kampmann 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles, while Jansen and Rottier pulled out 6-0, 6-3 wins at No. 3.
Eggert and Heezen faced touch competition in Qiarie Burns and Emily Ringwelski, losing 6-4, 7-5.
Pulaski 7, Rhinelander 0
Everyone fought their way into the win column against Rhinelander.
Ruth Krause, Schluessler and Anna Krause won their singles matches in two sets each. At the No. 4 spot, Cole won 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.
Eggert and Heezen returned to the win column with 6-4, 6-4 victories. Groteluschen and Lemerond prevailed with 7-5, 6-1 wins, and Jansen and Rottier won 6-2, 6-2.
