Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 54, Wausaukee 20
Lena had little trouble with Wausaukee, scoring first and last and several times in between.
Calvin Peters carried the ball 20 times for 214 yards and four touchdowns. Tyler Shallow collected 92 yards and a touchdown on his 10 carries, and Max Peterson had eight rushes for 67 yards and one TD.
Peters completed 2-of-4 passing attempts for 35 yards, both to Colt Miller.
At 4-0 and in first place in the Across the Bay Conference, Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas will host Gibraltar (0-5) at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at Lena.
Oconto Falls 42, Shiocton 16
Cole Bozile returned the opening kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown, and the Panthers never looked back en route to a 26-point margin of victory over Shiocton.
Wyatt Laughrin scored twice in the first quarter, on runs of 70 and 69 yards. He ended the night with 209 yards on only five carries for a 41.8 yards per carry average.
Trent Blazek and Isaac Bramer each rushed for a touchdown. Bramer had a 77-yard score in the second quarter, and Blazek ran it in from 48 yards in the third quarter.
The Panthers also scored in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard pass from Emerich Skarban to Grayson Cahak.
Oconto Falls will travel to Northland Pines for a game at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Pulaski 77, Appleton West 38
Brock Weideman and Sawyer Goodness each rushed for three touchdowns as Pulaski pounded Appleton West 77-38. Spencer Hakes also rushed for two scores, with Brayden Weideman, Bohdan Schmidt and Anthony Ficarri each rushing for one TD.
Brock Weideman and Schmidt combined for only three pass attempts in the game.
Goodness led the rushing attack with 176 yards on six carries. Hakes had 10 carries for 138 yards. Brock Weideman ran 14 times for 96 yards, and Schmidt carried the ball six times for 94 yards.
The Red Raiders, 3-2 in the Fox River Classic Conference, host Green Bay Preble at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Suring 42, Gibraltar 6
Taylor Booth-Stoffregen threw for a pair of touchdowns, and Grant Thomson ran for two more as Suring downed Gibraltar 42-6.
Korix Kempka and Kaleb Kempka each rushed for at touchdown as well.
Thomson led the ground game with 92 yards on 17 carries. Kaleb Kempka had 53 yards on his one carry.
Jake Cornell and Michael caught the combined five passes for 96 yards, and Bailey had both receiving touchdowns.
Booth-Stoffregen also had a defensive interception.
The Eagles led 8-0 after the first quarter, 22-6 at halftime and 28-6 after three quarters, before scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Suring will host Algoma at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 42, Colby 20
Bryson Schmid rushed for three touchdowns as Wittenberg-Birnamwood improved to 4-1 in the CWC-Large Conference.
The Chargers scored 14 points in the second quarter, 16 in the third and 12 in the fourth in a game they never trailed.
Jett Rogowski and Kaden Yaeger each had an interception for Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
The Chargers will host Marathon at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Algoma 62, Gillett 26
Three touchdowns and 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter by Algoma spelled defeat for Gillett.
The Tigers had a balanced attack; it just wasn’t enough.
Jesse DeBauch completed 11-of-21 for 106 yards and a touchdown to Lavonzell Smith. Unfortunately, DeBauch also threw three interceptions.
Smith led the running game with 90 yards on 18 carries, and Clayton Borremans had 16 carries for 87 yards.
DeBauch and Jedric Herzog each pulled down one interception for Gillett.
Algoma led 12-6 after the first quarter and 24-12 at the half. Gillett pulled closer in the third quarter, trailing 24-20.
Algoma scored twice in the third quarter to go up 40-20. Despite Gillett’s final TD that brought the score to 40-26, Algoma went on a scoring binge to end the game.
Gillett is set to host Green Bay NEW Lutheran Co-op at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Tri-County 22, Marion/Tigerton 14
Marion/Tigerton couldn’t keep its 6-0 first quarter lead, as Tri-County tied the score at 14-14 at halftime and added a third quarter touchdown to seal the victory.
Braylon Mielke rushed with the ball 24 times for 133 yards and one TD.
Joey Zimdars threw 5-for-15 for 50 yards and a touchdown to Sam Anhueser.
Logan Zietlow caught three balls for 25 yards. Zietlow also had two interceptions.
Next up for the Thundercatz is a home game at Tigerton against Wild Rose at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.
Almond-Bancroft 66, Menominee Nation 0
Almond-Bancroft defenders pulled down five interceptions against Menominee Nation, and the offense scored on seven passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in its 66-0 shutout over Menominee Nation.
The Eagles will travel to Port Edwards at 4 p.m. Oct. 11.
Xavier 41, Shawano 0
Shawano played a close contest with Xavier for the first half but a 34-point third quarter by the visitors ended any dreams Shawano had of an upset.
Trailing 7-0 at halftime, Shawano gave up a 61-yard touchdown run to open the third quarter floodgates. Xavier then returned a fumble for 44 yards, followed by a 43-yard TD run for its third score. Two short TD runs of 1 and 5 yards ended the scoring.
Shawano is 0-5 in the Bay Conference. The Hawks will play their homecoming game at 1 p.m. Oct. 12 against Waupaca, which is 2-3 in conference play.
