Pulaski beats Shawano in tennis

Aug. 28 Pulaski 5, Shawano 2 The Shawano girls tennis team battled against an experienced Pulaski team to get two wins as Pulaski captured five victories. Upstart freshman Jaelyn Hietpas won her second match in a row with 6-4, 6-0 victory. Rachael Carroll continued her winning streak with 6-0, 6-0 wins. Each team won two singles matches. Pulaski’s Ruth Krause topped Ireland Setterman 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while teammate Isabella Skalecki defeated Hadley Rettke 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot. At No. 2, Carroll beat Aubrie Schluessler 6-0, 6-0, and at No. 4, Hietpas defeated Anna Krause. Alyssa Eggert and Addison Heezen of Pulaski won 6-1, 6-3 over Claire Weiland and Olivia Dobratz at No. 1. At No. 2, it was Ayla Groteluschen and Linde Lemerond shutting out Madison Miller and Lana Owens 6-0, 6-0. The scores of 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 were in favor of Hailey Jansen and Gretchen Rottier over Ava Hoffman and Abriella Mahkimetas-Kurkiewicz.
