VanderLinden lifts Bears over Brillion Hunter VanderLinden’s three-run home run in the top of the seventh lifted the Bonduel High School baseball team to a 6-5 win over Brillion in a nonconference game Friday in Brillion. VanderLinden finished 2 for 4 with four RBIs. He also picked up the win, pitching 3 1-3 innings, allowing three hits and one run, and striking out four. Colton Dobratz was 3 for 4 for the Bears (4-2, 3-1 Central Wisconsin Conference-8). Dante Krizenesky took the loss for Brillion (2-6, 2-5 Olympian). He pitched 6 1-3 innings, allowed six runs on nine hits and struck out two. Bonduel beaten at Poynette The Bonduel High School softball team lost to Poynette 9-6 on the road Friday. Jennifer Dowden took the loss for Bonduel (3-2, 3-1 Central Wisconsin Conference-8), allowing 12 hits and four walks and getting 12 strikeouts. Kailee Pedersen was 3 for 4. Hawks sweep East in tennis The Shawano Community High School boys tennis team beat Green Bay East 7-0 Friday in Shawano. Patarapol Chittanorak defeated Tristan Mansfield, 6-1, 6-1, in the only singles match of the day. Shawano picked up the other three matches by forfeit. Tom Cumberland and Austin Steinbach, the Hawks’ No. 1 doubles team, defeated Jeff Rotzenberg and Matt Bethke, 6-0, 6-1. Dalton Parson and Sajen Knueppel beat Ben Kremer and Carter Woods, 6-1, 6-0. Ted Mickelson and Rolando Colon defeated Matt Waskosky and Levi Jelenski, 6-2, 6-0. Hawks fall to Hortonville The Shawano Community High School baseball team lost a Bay Conference game to Hortonville 18-2 in five innings Thursday in Hortonville. Jack Lacy took the loss for the Hawks (1-4, 1-3 Bay). Dan Borek earned the win for Hortonville (5-2, 4-1).
