More than 70 plates were served at St. Anthony Parish on Feb. 1 at the Taste of Knights.
This event was a fundraiser for the Oconto Falls Knights of Columbus council. With a $20 admission, attendees enjoyed an evening of all-you-can-eat food and beverages served by local Knights.
Dishes included Guinness Irish stew by Lee Ward, potato pierogi by Carl Blahnik, pulled pork sliders with apple slaw by Rick Lemke, Swedish meatballs by Craig Young, Polish sausage and kielbasa.
Chef James Ryczkowski, who cooked at St. Norbert College for 27 years, served hand-carved slow-roasted roast beef onto homemade potato rolls.
“I went to culinary school in Chicago, and one of my classmates was the inventor of Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce,” Ryczkowski said.
In addition to the meal, there were raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle.
St. Anthony Parish is gearing up for a busy spring. Its annual school auction is scheduled for April 5, and its popular food truck event is planned for May 5.
