Paul McDermid

Paul McDermid, 63, of Green Bay, went to his heavenly home Thursday, March 20, 2014. He was born March 3, 1951, in Oconto to Francis and Doris (Exferd) McDermid. Paul graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the Class of 1969. He served his country as a Seabee with the U.S. Navy. On Oct. 18, 1991, he married Shelley (Schuelke) Koch. Survivors include his wife, Shelley McDermid, Green Bay; three children, Geoffrey McDermid, and his wife, Melanie, Noble, Okla.; Bradley McDermid, Moore, Okla.; Lacey Koch, and her fiancé, Shawn Jorgensen, Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren, Daylin Smith, Zachary McDermid, Emily McDermid, Erika Jorgensen; brothers, sisters and their spouses, Dawg “Bill” and Kaye McDermid, Monte McDermid, Leon and Jo McDermid, Peggy O’Mara, Sue McDermid, Jan McDermid and her friend Dorn Young, Jon and Kelly McDermid; a sister-in-law, Darlene McDermid; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Doris McDermid; two brothers, Gary and Glen McDermid; his in-laws, Fred and Diane Schuelke; and a brother-in-law, Jeff Schuelke. Friends called Tuesday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay. A parish wake service was held Tuesday. Friends may also call from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Cemetery.
