Panthers claim several titles at home meet

March 25 OFHS Indoor Meet Oconto Falls hosted Algoma, Oconto and Suring in a season-opening indoor meet. The Panthers captured first place in 10 boys events and five girls events. Elijah White won the 200-meter dash in 26.44, and Emerson Rice won the 400-meter dash in 58.84. Griffin Kopke had the top spot in the 800-meter run in 2:27.90, while Mason Lotto won the 1,600-meter run in 5:55.60. Emerich Skarban captured first in the 50-yard hurdles in 7.34. All three relay teams won their events – the 4x100, the 4x400 and the 4x800. Brady Bursa was first in the long jump at 19-1.5, and he was first in the triple jump at 37-7.5. For the girls, Emma Meissner won the 800-meter run in 2:47.00. The 4x100-meter relay team was first in 1:13.14, and the 4x800-meter relay team won in 11:11.20. Gwen Maggio took top honors in the long jump at 14 feet 3.5 inches, and Abby Budz won the triple jump in 31-8.5. Triple jump: Hailey Delzer, second, 30-2.5; Emery Pagel, third, 28-6.5; Anastasopoulos, fourth, 28-3; Maci Gaertig, fifth, 24-1; Eloise Thompson, sixth, 23-11.5. Shot put: Emily Elliot, fourth, 25-4; Leah Bigelow, fifth, 24-5; Hailee Rugg, sixth, 23-7.5. Girls from Suring won seven events. Aliya Cox won the 200-meter dash in 30.64 and the 400-meter dash in 1:08.54. She also won the high jump at 5-0. Allyson Seibert won the 1,600-meter run in 7:25.20. Tessa Losurdo won the pole vault at 7-0, and HaileyBo Pecanas won the shot put at 27-9. The 4x400-meter relay took first in 4:35.60. Several others placed in the top 10. Ripon College Invitational Pulaski’s boys scored 38 points and placed seventh out of 17 teams at the Willmore Center, and the girls scored three points and placed 16th. Placing in the top 10 for the boys were: 200-meter dash, Keegan Bouchea, ninth, 24.54. 400-meter dash: Thomas Murphy, third, 54.07; Mitchell Pilon, 10th, 56.60. 800-meter run: Dan Augustine, third, 2:05.86. 1,600-meter run: Arden Gillen, fifth, 4:46.44; Parker Marshall, seventh, 4:57.28. 4x200-meter relay: Bouchea, Eli Brancefield, Max Fredrickson, Sawyer Goodness, sixth, 1:41.15. 4x400-meter relay: Augustine, Dayne Groth, Landyn Kroll, Murphy, second, 3:43.16. High jump: Bennett Vanschyndel, sixth, 5-8; Isaac Lom, seventh, 5-8. Triple jump: Brancefield, fifth, 38-9. Anna Friedman had the best finish for the girls, placing sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.04. Marshfield Tigers Boys Invite Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Kaden Yeager placed third in the triple jump in 37-2.5 in Marshfield. The only other top 10 finish for the Chargers was Aydrean McGescheck, who was seventh in the long jump at 17-1.75.
