A preliminary hearing was held for Jesse A. Kropp, 28, Wausau, on felony charges of knowingly operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license (cause death) and homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle on Aug. 3 in Townsend. A $5,000 cash bond continues. An arraignment is Jan. 23.
Daniel J. Janus, 44 Green Bay, was sentenced to 18 months incarceration and two years extended supervision on a felony charge of operating while intoxicated (fifth or sixth offense) Aug. 4 in the town of Oconto. He is to lose six points on his driver’s license, which is revoked 36 months. An ignition interlock is imposed for 36 months. He must maintain absolute sobriety and successfully complete all alcohol and other drug abuse and cognitive intervention assessment, evaluations, treatment and follow-up care. The courts dismissed two misdemeanor charges with citations.
A sentencing hearing was held for Shawn P. McKenna, 47, Townsend, on six counts of failure to support child (120-plus days) from Oct. 15, 2011, to March 16, 2014, in Townsend.. On one count, a sentence of three years, six months was imposed and stayed. He was sentenced to one year and six months incarceration and four years Department of Corrections probation. On the second count, the sentence was withheld for four years until the probation period is over. All other charges were read in and dismissed by the court. He must surrender his income tax credit to pay past support, along with a payment of $465 per month. He is to cooperate in full with the Oconto County child support agency and maintain absolute sobriety.
