A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Decarlo L. Denny, 26, Oconto, on one misdemeanor charge and felony charges of burglary of a building or dwelling (repeater) and theft of movable property (repeater), which allegedly occurred April 23, 2012, in Oconto. The court set a $5,000 signature bond. An arraignment is scheduled Feb. 12.
A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Seth M. Fidler, 20, Crivitz, on a felony charge of driving or operating a vehicle without owner’s consent, which allegedly occurred Dec. 1 in Oconto County. A $500 cash bond was amended to $250. A plea and sentencing is scheduled Jan. 6.
A plea hearing was held for Gabriel J. Kurek , 37, Lena. He pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and a felony charge of substantial battery with intentional bodily harm, domestic abuse, with two counts of bail jumping, from May 24 in the town of Lena. A $20,000 cash bond continues. He also has a Marinette County case pending. A sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 13.
A plea hearing was held for Jeremia B. Spohn, 27, Townsend. He pleaded no contest on a felony charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle (second-plus offense) and a misdemeanor charge, which allegedly occurred Aug 29 in the town of Townsend. A $20,000 cash bond was revoked by the court. A sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 27.
An initial appearance was held for Gage M. Giese, 20, Gillett, on a felony charge of a sex registry violation, which allegedly occurred April 24 and Oct. 24 in Oconto. The court set a $2,500 cash bond.
Proceedings from Dec. 22
An initial appearance was held for Chad A. Renier, 32, Pound, on felony charges of sexual assault of a child under 16, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, child enticement, and exposing genitals, which allegedly occurred Nov. 22 in the town of Brazeau. The court set a $50,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled Dec. 30.
A preliminary hearing was held for Matthew M. Casper Jr., 30, Oconto, on a felony charge of child abuse, intentionally cause harm (domestic abuse) and three misdemeanor charges, which allegedly occurred Nov. 20 in Oconto. A $2,500 cash bond was amended to $1,500. An arraignment/status conference is Jan. 15.
A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Earl F. Cornelius, 39, Green Bay, on nine counts of failure to support a child (120-plus days) from Oct. 1, 2011, to Sept. 30, 2014, in Oconto. The court set a $5,000 cash bond. An arraignment is Jan. 15.
Philip J. Giese, 19, Oconto, was sentenced on felony charges of burglary of a building or dwelling, party to a crime (19 counts), theft of movable property, special facts, as a party to a crime (seven counts), and 30 misdemeanor charges, which occurred between Jan. 1 and March 9 in Riverview and Mountain. Eight additional counts from Marinette County were consolidated with those in Oconto County. On counts 1 and 6 of burglary to a building or dwelling, he was sentenced to four years incarceration and four years extended supervision, to run concurrently. On count 3 of the charges, theft of movable property, special facts, he was sentenced to one year incarceration and two years extended supervision, concurrent to count 1. For the Marinette County charges of theft, movable property, special facts, he was sentenced to one year incarceration and two years extended supervision, to run concurrent to the other sentences. On the Marinette County charge of burglary of a building or dwelling, as party to a crime, he was sentenced to one year incarceration and two years extended supervision, to run consecutive to the other sentences. Restitution for both counties is $19,782.45, plus fees of $528. He must have no contact with the victims or others involved, find full-time employment or part-time employment if enrolled in school, and successfully complete any assessments and programs deemed appropriate. All other charges, including consolidated ones, were dismissed.
Robert T. Woosencraft, 49, Oconto, pleaded no contest to a felony OWI (seventh, eighth or ninth offense with a passenger under 16 years old) and a misdemeanor charge, which occurred July 20 in Little River. A $20,000 cash bond was amended to $365.25 with conditions of absolute sobriety and no driving any motor vehicle. A date for sentencing had not been scheduled.
Lindy L. Walker, 27, Marinette, received a 3 1/2 year sentence on a felony charge of possession of narcotic drugs from May 15 in Lena. A sentence of 18 months incarceration was imposed and stayed, with two years of extended supervision and three years of probation, with conditions not to exceed one year of jail (can be served in Oconto, Brown or Marinette County). She is to be granted a furlough for childbirth. She also must be accepted and enter into a Marinette County drug program. She must complete any other programs assigned, in addition to maintaining absolute sobriety, and obtain and maintain full-time employment. Three misdemeanor charges were read in; all other charges were dismissed.
Justin A. Grzybowski, 21, Lena, was sentenced to 18 months incarceration and 24 months extended supervision on charges of second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16. On charges of causing a child to view/listen to sexual activity, he was sentenced to 18 months incarceration and 24 months extended supervision, to run concurrent to count 1. On a misdemeanor charge of fourth degree sexual assault, he was sentenced to six months jail, consecutive to counts 1 and 2. He received credit for 216 days incarceration. The offenses occurred May 17 in the town of Oconto. He must pay court costs, DNA fees and district attorney fees totaling $2,486.80, due during extended supervision. He is to have no contact with the victim or the residence of the victim’s family, must successfully complete alcohol and other drug abuse treatment and sex offender treatment, and follow-up and register as a sex offender.
An adjourned initial appearance was held for Adam J. Albert, 34, Oconto, on a felony charge of second-degree sexual assault/sex organ injury and three misdemeanors, which allegedly occurred Nov. 22 in Oconto. A $5,000 cash bond continues. A preliminary hearing was scheduled Dec. 30.
A preliminary hearing was held for Randy M. Phillips, 52, Crivitz, on a felony charge of OWI (third offense with a passenger under 16), which allegedly occurred Aug. 16 in Abrams. A $2,500 cash bond continues. An arraignment is Jan. 7.
Roy A. Oldenburg, 19, Oconto Falls, pleaded no contest to two felony counts of exposing a child to harmful material, which allegedly occurred June 15 and July 11, possession with intent to deliver THC and maintain drug trafficking place, allegedly occurring July 16, and four misdemeanor charges, all in Oconto Falls. Sentencing is Feb. 13.
An initial appearance was held for Kristine M. Agamaite, 37, Oconto Falls, on felony charges of manufacture with intent to deliver THC, distribution to minors, possession of narcotic drugs, and three misdemeanor charges, which allegedly occurred Dec. 21 in Oconto Falls. The court set a $10,000 cash bond. A continued initial appearance is Jan. 5.
