Cecile J. Engel

Cecile J. “Cele” Engel, 99, of Shawano, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Saturday morning, Feb. 29, 2020, at Birch Hill Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past 17 months. Cele was born March 2, 1920, in the town of Richmond, Shawano County, a daughter of the late Frank and Susie (Ainsworth) Opperman. She attended the Forest School in the town of Richmond. Dennis K. Gilligan
Dennis K. Gilligan, 73, of Embarrass, formerly of Gillett, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, at The Pines Post-Acute and Memory Care in Embarrass. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory in Clintonville has been entrusted with his arrangements.
Rev. Kathleen Kraft
The Rev. Kathleen Kraft, 71, of Weston, formerly of Antigo, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020. Kathleen was born June 5, 1948, in Shawano to the late Benjamin “Ben” O. and Eva M. (Hoppe) Kraft. She was a graduate of Bowler High School Class of 1966 and graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.
Wayne L. Zimmerman
Wayne Lee Zimmerman passed away Feb. 23, 2020, at the age of 83, in a local Green Bay hospital. Wayne was born June 14, 1936, in Shawano to Arnold and Elsie (Raddant) Zimmerman. He moved to Green Bay early in life, and he graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1954. He married Patricia Lewis on July 28, 1956, who preceded him in death in 2019.
Joseph E. Deer II
Joseph Edward Deer II (Joe Buck), of Keshena, 82, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at a Shawano hospital. He was born April 8, 1937, to Joseph Deer and Constance Deer. Joe graduated from Shawano High School, class of 1955. Joe joined the United States Army in 1956, serving at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Joe attended the National Hardwood Lumber Grading School and graduated with the class of 1962, in Memphis, Tennesee.
Virginia Mae Cady
Virginia Mae Cady, 85, of Shawano, passed away Feb. 21, 2020, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. She was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Rhinelander, to the late Gordon and Emily (Clark) Spengler. Virginia was united in marriage to Lloyd Cady on Feb. 28, 1953, in Rhinelander. They lived in Rhinelander for 17 years before moving to Shawano in 1973. Lloyd preceded her in death on Nov.
Roma A. Verg-Milligan
Roma A. Verg-Milligan, 86, of Tigerton passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at Maple Lane Health Care Center in Shawano. Funeral arrangements are pending with Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton.
