A Shawano man convicted of robbing the CoVantage Credit Union last year was sentenced Wednesday to five years in prison and another 10 years extended supervision. Darrin H. Church, 48, pleaded no contest in March to charges of using the threat of force to rob the CoVantage Credit Union at 911 E. Green Bay St., Shawano, and attempting to rob Cash Tyme at 705 E.

Objections from industrial customers might shift some of the burden of a proposed hike in electric rates to smaller customers, despite initial projections that they wouldn’t be affected. The Pulaski Area Historical Society brick fundraising campaign is in full force. To date, the museum has sold 80 commemorative bricks to donors. The bricks will be displayed on the exterior wall of the museum. The bricks are $100 each. Each brick is personalized with up to three lines of type. The fundraiser is an effort to preserve historical artifacts at the Pulaski Museum, 121 W. Pulaski St., Pulaski.

Berrylakers showed their spirit and patriotism by wearing red, white and blue for the annual Fourth of July boat parade and competition July 5 at Berry Lake. The theme was Patriotic. Nine families participated. First place went to the Jensen family for best family performance.

The Oconto County Historical Society invites artists to exhibit their work at the society’s 11th annual art show from Saturday, July 26, and through Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Beyer Home Museum complex.. Anyone connected to Oconto County is eligible to exhibit up to two pieces of their work. Any medium is accepted. Work from past artists is also welcomed. Artists are also invited to provide live demonstrations to showcase their skills.
