Gresham Community School needs a girls varsity basketball coach. Nick Yaeger left the program last month for a similar position at Clintonville High School.

Dowden leaves large coaching shoes to fill
Bonduel High School last week began interviewing applicants for the job of girls varsity basketball coach. Melissa Dowden stepped down this spring after nine seasons with the Bears, a 138-71 career record, two Central Wisconsin Conference-8 championships and a WIAA regional title. “Coaching at Bonduel has been great,” Dowden said.
Birnamwood man pleads no contest to child porn possession
A Birnamwood man who was due to go to trial next week on nearly 70 counts of possessing child pornography pleaded no contest Thursday to 54 of those counts under a plea agreement with the state. Christopher J. Ehlenfeldt, 39, had faced 69 counts of possessing child porn and one felony count of child sexual exploitation.
County finance director job might go unfilled

The Box in the Wood Theatre Guild’s next show will take audiences down a winding, mysterious road to find out who would dare to commit murder. The twist is that the ending will be different every night. Thursday, Box in the Wood will debut “Clue: The Musical,” a show that combines elements of the classic Parker Brothers board game with the 1980s film that featured three different endings.

Gordon W. Carlson, 56, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. Gordon was born in Menominee, Michigan, on Dec. 28, 1958, to the late Wesley and Joan (Therriault) Carlson. On Sept. 22, 1991, Gordon was united in marriage to Kimberlee Grunewald in Bonduel. He was a handy man, always helping others and was known to his family as Mr. Fix-It. Gordon served our country in the United States Marine Corps.

Authorities warn of another new scam
A telephone scam in which a recorded message warns that the recipient is being sued by the Internal Revenue Service and needs to quickly call a special number to reach the IRS appears to be hitting the area, according to the Shawano Police Department.
