State attorney general candidate visits Shawano

Bank robbery suspect competent to stand trial
A Shawano man accused of robbing the CoVantage Credit Union in April was found competent to stand trial Friday and is scheduled for arraignment Monday in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court. Darrin H. Church, 48, is accused of robbing the CoVantage Credit Union at 911 E. Green Bay St. and attempting to rob Cash Tyme at 705 E. Green Bay St.

Warren L. Cass
Warren L. Cass, 82, of Embarrass, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at the Appleton Medical Center. Warren was born on April 4, 1931, in the Township of Matteson, Waupaca County, the son of the late Ira and Hazel (Velie) Cass. He later attended Woodland School, also in the Township of Matteson. On March 26, 1979, Warren was united in marriage to Rhoda Peeler in Lake County, Ill.

Walking program inspires students, gets them moving

Volunteer Profile
Judy Wetzel does a lot of volunteer work on her own, for her church and for organizations. She and her husband, Glenn Wille, who teaches at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, have been married 40 years and live in Shawano. They have three children — one is deceased, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Wetzel was born on a farm outside of Gresham and graduated from Gresham High School in 1951.
