Shawano Police Department Feb. 22 Police logged 11 incidents, including the following: Theft — An iPad was reported stolen in the 200 block of East Maurer Street. Disturbance — Charges of battery and disorderly conduct were referred against a 15-year-old boy after a disturbance in the 400 block of Riverside Drive. Theft — A phone was reported stolen at the Wisconsin House, 216 E. Green Bay St. Feb.

After we saw our last one off to college, I had planned to broaden my horizons by reading a little more and doing something for myself. Farming has a way of deterring from that notion very readily. After a full day of winter farm chores, I come into our nice warm house just wanting to collapse at night.

Jim Bartz is in his second term as the president of the Shawano FFA Alumni, which will hold its annual Wild Game Feed this month. The group’s main purpose is to support the FFA. Bartz was born and raised in Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School in 1986. He took the Fox Valley Technical College Farm Short Course for three years, earning a vocational degree.

Stress is a five-letter word and seems to dominate our daily lives. As I became a senior citizen, and continue in these “golden years,” I try to eliminate stress in any way possible. I say no more, I do things ahead of time and not wait until the last minute.

To the editor: The Clintonville Chamber of Commerce recently sent out a notice soliciting donations for the flower baskets on Main Street. I applaud the private sector’s initiative to step up to ease the budget burden on taxpayers. The chamber cites the disappointing decision made by the council but does note it had to make the cut.
