Jerome J. Bushman

Jerome J. Bushman, of Bonita Springs, Florida, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Gulf Coast Medical Center, Fort Myers, Florida. Jerry was born on June 29, 1942, in Wausau, the son of John and Sadie (Grzywacz) Bushman. Jerry was united in marriage to Barbara Kostka on July 7, 1963, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent. Legislators want state funds for safety during draft
Local legislators are making a pitch for the state to help pay for some of the safety needs associated with the NFL draft taking place in Green Bay on Aug. 24-26. “Ensuring the success and safety of an event of this size requires an enormous amount of public resources,” said state Rep. County committees approve master planning firm
Venture Architects has been chosen by a pair of Shawano County Board committees to complete a facilities master plan and schematic designs for county properties. The contract will not exceed $110,000. It was approved by the executive committee and the public property committee, with the county board set to debate the issue April 15.

Megan Suehring, Shawano County 4-H positive youth development educator, recently completed the 2024-25 term as president of the Wisconsin Association of Educators & 4-H Youth Development Professionals. Fatal UTV crash plea deal results in no jail time
Just before he was scheduled to stand trial on a felony charge of homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a former Waukesha man agreed to plead no contest to forfeiture violations of operating an ATV or UTV while intoxicated and operating a UTV with a passenger riding in an improper way. Travis Stangel
Travis James Stangel, 57, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2025. He was born in Washington on Jan. 17, 1968, to James and Janet (Biersteker) Stangel. On July 22, 2000, he married Jill Rueckert in Gillett. Travis was the proud owner of Stangel Construction since 1993.
