A Shawano man is wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Florence County.
An arrest warrant was issued last week for Bernard A. Fish Sr., 46, in Florence County Circuit Court on a felony charge of robbery with the use of force, according to online court records.
The Daily News of Iron Mountain, Mich., reported Wednesday that Fish and Donavan Waupoose, 21, of Stephenson, Mich., are accused of being involved in a carjacking and armed robbery incident in Long Lake on Aug. 1.
According to the criminal complaint quoted in the Daily News, the victim in the case was a friend of Waupoose. They had arranged to meet at a bar to celebrate the friend’s birthday. When the friend arrived in his car, a man he didn’t know — later identified as Fish — allegedly jumped into the back seat of the vehicle and pointed a gun at him.
The victim claimed Fish also stole a cell phone and some money along with the car. In a statement to police, the victim said that he believed that Waupoose set him up for the carjacking/armed robbery that Fish committed.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for Waupoose, according to court records.
