Leona M. Juedes

Leona M. Juedes, of Bonduel, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in Shawano at the age of 94. Leona was born on April 15, 1919, in the town of Hartland to William and Amelia (Timm) Lauersdorf. On Dec. 14, 1941, she was married to Lester Juedes at Friedens Church in Bonduel. They farmed for many years, and after retirement moved to Shawano. After Lester’s death, Leona moved to Hillside apartments in Bonduel in 1997 and was a resident until the present. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, town of Washington. She was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and belonged to a card club with Lester. She is survived by one son, Dennis (Barb) Juedes, of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; one daughter, Audrey Hoppe, of Bonduel; six grandchildren, Rodney (Patty) Hoppe, Bonduel, Craig Hoppe, Green Bay, Annette (Alan) Grahl, Shawano, Brent (Pam) Hoppe, Freedom, Amy (Craig) Schneider, Virginia, and Sarah (Mike) Schaller, New York. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Wesley Grahl, Melissa, Eric and Nicole Hoppe, Mercedez Hoppe; great-stepgrandchildren, Kari (Matt) Guyette and Kyle Vanden Eng; also great-great-grandchildren, Julia, Ellie, Eva, Bennett, Skyler, Makayla and Tal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; an infant daughter; a son-in-law, Ronald Hoppe; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, town of Washington, W4496 County Road E, Bonduel, with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at St. Paul Church Cemetery, town of Washington.
