Dora Wauters, 87, Green Bay, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at a local nursing home. She was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Hartland to William and Leona (Boetcher) Quandt.
On July 31, 1948, Dora married Charles J. “Chuck” Wauters in Angelica. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2000. Dora was a longtime member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a member of the D.A.V. Russell Leicht Chapter 3 Auxiliary as well as the American Legion Sullivan Wallen Post 11 Auxiliary. Dora was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by two children and their spouses, Charlie and Claire Wauters, Green Bay, and Susann and Roger Jacques, De Pere; four grandchildren, Ronda Jacques, Sara and Steve Wauters, Charles Wauters and his wife, Hope Liu, and Gerald Wauters; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Oreana, Travis, Isabelle, Grace, Seth, Ethan, Helen “Ellie”; a great-great-grandson, Jonathan; four siblings, Adolph, Venetta, Edward (Kathy), and Lester (Sandra); brother-in-law, Gustav; sister-in-law, Dorothy “Sue”; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents and a sister, Celia.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 10-11 a.m. Monday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Robert Christman officiating. Entombment will be in The Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
