Bernice A. Reissmann, 88, of Clintonville, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014, at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville, surrounded by her loving family.
Bernice was born on Aug. 8, 1925, in Bowler, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ella (Steinke) Radun.
On Nov. 3, 1944, she was united in marriage to Harold “Bud” Reissmann in Milwaukee. The couple had lived in Birnamwood and Marion, and in 1961 moved to Clintonville. Bernice enjoyed being a homemaker. Once her family was grown, she worked at Pine Manor Nursing Home, Embarrass, for a number of years in the laundry department until her retirement. Harold preceded his wife in death on Jan. 10, 1995.
Bernice was a private person, however, she had a contagious smile. Her hobbies included watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, walking and listening and dancing to polka music.
Survivors include her daughters: Sharon (Edwin “Bub”) Kitzman, Big Falls, Sandra Blum, Tigerton, Diane (Jim) Gocke, Marion, and Gale (Scott) Stoehr, Sauk City; her sons, Ronald (Cheryl) Reissmann, Appleton, and Dale Reissmann, Clintonville; her grandchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Anklam, Oneida, Kevin Reissmann, Clintonville, Kimi (Eric) Johnson, Clintonville, Rhonda (Charlie) Denu, Mount Horeb, Angie (Cory) Chovanec, Oshkosh, Carey (Lucas) Carroll, Maui, Hawaii, Mandy Stoehr (Ryan Johnson), Sauk City, and Stacey Stoehr (Jesse Baier), Prairie du Sac; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold “Bud”; a daughter, Shirley, in infancy; three sisters, Martha Pingel, Adela Krueger and Laura Meverden; brother, Rudolph Radun; grandson, Tim Erickson; and son-in-law, Karl Blum.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Jill Meyer officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
The Reissmann family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center and Heartland Hospice for all of the gentle and personal care given to Bernice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bernice’s family.
