Area high school athletes won 18 championships at WIAA track and field regionals Tuesday.
Gresham/Bowler’s Drew Payne won the triple jump and the 100 dash at the Division 3 regional in Rosholt. He also took second in the long jump. Teammates Austin Olsen (300 hurdles), Cody Montez (3,200 run) and Andrew Pleshek (high jump) also won events.
Menominee Indian’s Ania Smith won the discus and shot put at the Division 3 regional in Suring. Gordon James III won the 100 and 200 dashes. Brandon Reiter won the 1,600 and 3,200 runs.
