Clintonville thrift store holding sales

New Beginnings Community Thrift Store, 106 1/2 N. Main St., Clintonville, will hold its final two inventory reduction garage sales on Aug. 20 and Aug. 27. “We’ve managed to clear out most of our four major storage areas,” said Brenda Hansen, donation coordinator. “But we still have lots of merchandise to move out, including a basement full of overflow inventory that we’ll be offering for sale at bargain basement prices the next two Wednesdays.” The garage sales will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The items include furniture, clothing, shoes, books, videos, toys and seasonal merchandise. There also will be a bake sale at Wednesday’s sale. Because of the abundant inventory, the store is not accepting donations until at least Sept. 1 as it undergoes roof repairs. Hanson said New Beginnings raised $3,000, enough to fix the worst part of the roof, but needs another $10,000 to get the rest of the work done. In case of inclement weather on either day, sale dates might be added in early September.
