Shawano wins Bay Conference invite

The Shawano Community High School girls tennis team won the Bay Conference tournament Thursday in Marinette. Shawano had a team score of 10, beating out New London (9), Marinette (6) and Menasha (3). No. 3 singles player Hannah Neumann won both her matches to earn a gold medal. Also getting golds for the Hawks were the No. 1 doubles team of Sara Hokestadt and Meghan Hoffman and the No. 3 doubles team of Nicki Ainsworth and Louisa Keenan. Singles players Courtney Ainsworth, Isabelle Carroll, Holly Schwecke each earned one win in the tournament. The No. 2 doubles team of Kelly Mastey and Sydney Steinbach also had a win. The Hawks will compete in the WIAA Division 1 subsectionals Monday at Western Racquet and Fitness in Green Bay.
