WHAT: WIAA Division 4 regional final: No. 4 Gresham/Bowler at No. 1 Stevens Point Pacelli

WHERE: Pacelli High School, 1301 Maria Drive, Stevens Point
WHY IT MATTERS: Gresham/Bowler (16-3-3) had a hard-fought overtime win against Wautoma to open the tournament. Now the Wildcats head to Stevens Point to take on No. 1 Pacelli (13-3-2, 9-3-1 Mid-State Conference). Senior Drew Payne added two goals to his team-high total of 28 for the season. Pacelli has a standout as well in striker Joe Fuller, who scored five goals in the Cardinals’ 8-0 win over Northland Lutheran.

WHAT: Bay Conference Meet
WHEN: 3:30 p.m. Thursday
WHERE: Mid Vallee Golf Course, 3850 Mid Valley Drive, De Pere
WHY IT MATTERS: The Shawano Community High School girls and boys cross-country teams will compete against the rest of the conference. The Shawano boys have been running hard recently, earning a win in Brillion last week. Teagan Monfils, a state qualifier two seasons ago, recently returned to the team after dealing with an injury in the early portion of the season. The conference meet will be the last big test for the runners before the WIAA sectionals Oct. 25.
