Sheriff’s duty is to protect and serve, Mr. Bieber

To the editor: I am writing today about the election for sheriff. Mr. Bieber said in an Aug. 9 article in The Shawano Leader that he is not there to save lives, and we are responsible for our own safety. He said 99 percent of the time he’s going to be finding your dead body. If Mr. Bieber isn’t about being there to protect and serve, then I have to wonder why on earth he’s even wearing a badge. Randy Wright is the exact opposite of Mr. Bieber. He wants to keep people safe. He’s not finding many dead bodies because he wants his officers to do all they can to handle each call in a timely manner so that doesn’t happen. I don’t know about you, but my vote is in favor of Randy Wright. Kathleen Ile, Shawano
