Gloria M. Peters

Gloria M. Peters, 57, of Cecil, passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Shawano Medical Center. Gloria was born on Nov. 20, 1957, in Green Bay, the daughter of the late John A. and Anna Marie (Stammers) Peters. She graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1975. Gloria along with her family own and operate Shotgun Eddy in Keshena. She was a proud member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. Gloria loved many things, including but not limited to traveling, watching old scary movies, listening to music and surfing the Internet. She had a contagious smile and laugh that could light up a room, and she found joy in the smallest things. Always willing to do anything she could for her friends and family, she always seemed to put others before herself. She was a wonderful sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Gloria is survived by her special friend, John Percy, of Cecil; her sister, Dianne (Mike) Maenpaa, of Underhill; two brothers, Brian Peters, of Krakow, and Lance (Luann) Peters, of White Lake; nieces and nephews, Brian Hilke and his children, A.J. and Buddy Hecko, Shane (Viola) Hilke and their children, Patty and Emily, Scott Hilke, Jon (Nora) Peters, Kyle (Magale) Peters, Kala Lardinois, Kristina (Jason) Boivin and Nicholas Volpi; her good friend, Penny Collier; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and one brother and one sister, both in infancy. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Deacon Mike Grezca officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 am. until the time of the service. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
